Victoria Miro first opened her gallery on Cork Street, Mayfair, in 1985. Over the past four decades, together with partners Glenn Scott Wright and Oliver Miro, who joined in 1996 and 2011 respectively, the gallery has gained international acclaim for nurturing a roster of established artists and showcasing a new generation of voices from around the world.
In 2000 the gallery relocated to its present premises, a sensitively restored furniture factory in North London. In 2006 the gallery opened a second exhibition and private viewing space in an adjoining building, uniquely connected by a waterside sculpture garden. Today Victoria Miro is one of London’s largest commercial gallery spaces.
In 2017 the gallery expanded internationally opening a third location in Venice to provide opportunities for artists to stage exhibitions and special projects in an intimate environment in the heart of this historic city.
In 2019 Victoria Miro established a studio space in Venice for artists to spend extended time and make new bodies of work in a city so beloved by artists.
In 2025 the gallery launched LIVE / ARCHIVE, led by Oliver Miro, an innovative platform designed to bring the gallery’s programmes to audiences worldwide. Powered by Vortic and utilising 3D, AR and VR, this initiative makes Victoria Miro the first gallery to integrate these new technologies into all its activities, including an extensive archive of exhibitions.
